“So, you’re kicking them out in the street?”

The ramifications of the situation were starting to dawn on her. Where would they go? Living cooped up at her small apartment? She would go nuts if that ever happened. There had to be a way out of this mess.

“I will. Unless…” he started, and she saw the shift in his eyes as if he was aiming in for his kill and enjoyed every second of it.

“Unless, what?” Elisa repeated.

“Unless I get you.”

Elisa just stared at him. What on earth did he mean?

“How?”

He moved closer, invading her private space as he bent his head a little and spoke into her ear.

“In my bed, placating to my every request. Every desire.”

“You’ve got to be kidding,” she blurted out as she took a step away from him.

She stared into his eyes, looking for him to tell her that he was only joking.

“I’m not. One weekend in exchange for a few shares.”

“Why? Is this part of the revenge thing?”

“No. When I want something, I can negotiate. But that’s the only thing that can prevent this bankruptcy.”

“Forget it! I’m not for sale.”

“You don’t have much choice. It’s my way or no way, and I will enjoy every second of your defeat,” he said as he moved like a panther stalking his prey.

She felt a blush start in her cheek as she felt herself being slightly aroused by the invader staking his claim. She did not want her family to hear the sexual innuendos he was throwing around. This might be ordinary for someone like him, but she preferred to keep her sex life private.

“Think about it,” Lucas said. “I’ll give you a few days to think. One weekend is not long to ensure the future of your family.” He turned to her father. “I want the final answer before Wednesday at noon. After that, you can start packing.”

Her father turned white and bumped down into his chair. He looked as if he was about to get a heart attack. Elisa felt the unease spread inside her stomach. Trying desperately to grasp for a solution and trying to understand that this was really happening. It felt more like a nightmare and she couldn’t wait to wake up.

Lucas walked out the door. For a second she hesitated before running after him.

“Mr Rochester,” she called as she caught up with him in the hallway.

He stopped by the front door and turned his grey eyes on her.

“What do you want me for?” she asked.

“You’ll soon find out if you accept my offer.”

“Is it too kinky to spell out?” she asked angrily.

He came closer and invaded her comfort zone again.
